In 1991., for outstanding achievement in fostering Serbian spiritual music the choir "Beogradski MAdrigalisti" ("Belgrade Madrigalists")was honored with the Order of St. Sava by the Serbian orthodox church.

Words of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle:
"I am very happy that I can, on behalf of the Serbian Church, congratulate on this significant milestone of 40 years of work to the Madrigalist choir and 25 years of work to its conductor, Mr. Mladenovic. The choir has cherished church music for 40 years, at times when it was not easy and at a level that was the highest it can be achieved, with God's blessing, and with the effort of the choir and its conductor.

I want, with God's blessing, and I say, with hard work, that the choir continues its endeavor to the beneits of the spirit, their own and of all those who are listening, to us all celebrate the Lord, as did our ancestors.

As a sign of this recognition, the Serbian church, awarded the choir with Order of St. Sava."
